ABOUT
I often say that “I wrote myself west” because it was during WWf(a)C
writing classes in Cincinnati, Ohio that I recognized and realized my dream
to move to the northwest. Once I arrived here I knew that I was home but I
also recognized that I missed my words being held and nurtured by the unique
women’s writing community of WWf(a)C.
Through the Feminist Leadership
Academy of WWf(a)C, I was once again able to realize a dream, a home
for Women Writing for (a) Change in Portland where I could facilitate the
creation of a community to inspire women’s voices.
WWf(a)C, founded in 1991 offers that place that is
so rare in our lives now, a place of reflection and intention where there is
authentic sharing and listening. This opportunity to write, listen and be
heard among a diverse community of writers gives voice to the depth and
breadth of each woman’s story.

“In the end, what prompts the most, and best, writing from women in the school are two things: the quality of attention we bring to our lives because we have set our intentions to write; and the inspiration of the other women in the classes whose words evoke our words.”
